Who has won league 1 the most?

Until the current season, Marseilles had the record of the most league titles, but their title was subsequently revoked due to a bribery scandal. The next season, Lyon won with 28 points from 18 games, to finish ahead of FC Antibes, who were involved in a bribery scandal. The club also won seven successive Ligue 1 titles between 2001-02 and 2007-08. PSG shares the record for most titles with Saint Etienne, who won in 1981. In the past century, Marseille has been a dominant force in French soccer, but the current season is their first title since changing their name to Ligue 1.

Lyon won the Ligue 1 title in 2017-18 and have won all four of the last five seasons. Paris Saint-Germain's last title was in 2011. However, they have now won six of the last seven seasons. Last season's title came as a surprise to many, especially as Lille were unexpected winners. PSG have now dominated the competition this season, and are currently 16 points clear of Marseille. They have only lost four league games this season and have scored 76 goals. PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino has won two titles with PSG, the Coupe de France and the French League.

How many Ligue 1 has PSG won?

As a French football team, PSG has won the Ligue 1 title a record number of times. They first won the title in 1986 and won back-to-back French Cups. After that, they won the Ligue 1 title again in 1987. In the 1990s, PSG enjoyed a very successful period. They won three French Cups, two league cups, and the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1996. During the 2011-12 season, PSG's fortunes took a turn for the better as the club was given more financial backing. Since then, PSG has won Ligue titles a record-breaking seven times, and have won multiple national cups.

Since 2011, Paris Saint-Germain has won 28 trophies in all competitions, including the Ligue 1. This record has surpassed that of the first team, Saint Etienne. The club's first title came in 1985-86. Since then, they've won eight consecutive league titles, including the 2015-16 season. With all this success, PSG is now the most successful club in France. In recent years, they have dominated the league with their excellent play and their massive investment from Qatari owners.

Who owns PSG?

As you may be aware, Paris Saint-Germain is owned by Qatar Sports Investment. This company is a subsidiary of the Qatari government and has acquired PSG from Canal + in 2006. On May 31, 2011, Colony Capital sold 70% of PSG to Qatar Sports Investments, who will take full control of the club by next season. Qatar Sports Investments will completely overhaul the French side, starting from the top. This will guarantee the club's success for years to come.

The current PSG manager has forced a drastic change in the fortunes of the Ligue 1 club. It is regarded as the richest takeover in Europe and has positioned PSG into the elite tier of European football. PSG's new owners have been criticized by human rights organizations and have a history of sport washing. While Al Khelaifi is no doubt the head of the club, Al Thani is the chairman and founder of QIA and the chairman of BeIN Media Group.
